The Butterfly Pavilion

April 23, 2010

Although the weather today was LESS than favorable, I took the boys out to Westminster to The Butterfly Pavilion. Cooper loved it and Nash enjoyed running away from me every chance he got. We are definitely going back!

Fix it Friday

April 16, 2010

Here’s my attempt at this weeks ‘i heart faces’ fix-it-friday :)

This is what I did…
-curves bump, increased shadows
-increased yellow in the color balance layer
-smoothed skin
-spot healed skin
-duplicated layer and changed blending mode to ‘color burn’, added a mask and painted it off the skin/clothes
-added a soft light layer, removed from skin
-burned edges
-added the ‘hazelnut’ texture from florabella and changed the blending mode to soft light and lowered opacity, erased from face.
-USM

choo choo

April 15, 2010

Nash has started to say Choo Choo and he loves the train tracks. He has been pretty dang sick over the last week, but I the end is in sight. My amazing sister took Cooper out for a playdate with his favorite cousin and Nash and I enjoyed the quiet.

March 22, 2010

I’m having fun entering these contests :) This week’s theme is ‘angles’ and this photo came to mind immediately. I was laying on the ground, cheek pressed against the concrete. I love this shot :)

I always love messing with actions. Although I don’t rely on them, they really can make a photo! I love these ones by Photo Fashionista. Linda and Pamela’s actions are perfect for adding a soft look to your photos without overpowering it. You will need to know how to adjust and make these your own. Thats the great thing about these, they’re different on every photo and very easy to customize to you own photos.

Lipstick Boost and Strawberries ‘n Cream and definitely my two favorites but they’re all awesome. :) I can’t wait to use these on more photos. Make sure to check them out and buy them at PhotoFashionista. You won’t be disappointed. :)

Ilford B&W

March 11, 2010

There is nothing more beautiful to me in the photography world than black and white film. You just can’t get that look and feel in the digital world. We were all sorts of sick this week, especially Nash, and I’m amazed that these were even taken. if you notice, there is a lot of my parent’s dog Daisy :) She was the only cooperative one. I love these images and I hope you do too :)
